The song of die Angels was the acclaim pf universal peace, a prophecy that wars* with their savagery and brutality, would ulti mately cease.; But with the discovery of new means of de&tuction, the invention of new vehicles of death, the unceasing preparation for possible conflict, the levying of thxes with Which to purchase arms and munitions, the day distant when “nations shall beat, their spears ing hooks." Yet, wars and the talk of them are more hated and hateful day by day, and the world over, shrink from their contemplation.
